CM's Letter To Citizen

My Memorandum to the Hon'ble Prime Minister - Dear citizens, I met Hon'ble PM at his office in New Delhi on 29th October, 2014 and submitted a memorandum to the Hon'ble PM enlisting a gamut of issues. I am placing before you the full text of the memorandum for your appraisal.

 

Hon’ble Prime Minster, You may kindly recall that soon after you had assumed the charge of Prime Minster of India, I had met you and apprised you of the problems, concerns and expectations of the people of Assam. Indeed, these matters are of equal relevance to the other states of the North Eastern Region as well. I take this opportunity to reiterate the continued relevance of the said issues, flagged in my earlier Memorandum, and request continued support and assistance of the Central Government for addressing them. This would be to the benefit of not only Assam but the entire North East. I would, however like to take this opportunity to bring to your notice some recent developments affecting the State of Assam RECENT DEVELOPMENTS ASSAM NAGALAND BORDER VIOLENCE Since we had last met the State has witnessed several developments of which you are already aware. Assam -Nagaland border erupted in violence leading to the death of eleven persons and displacement of nearly ten thousand people. Those who were displaced were largely poor and agricultural workers or very small and marginal farmers, mostly belonging to Adivasi community. They had to take shelter in relief camps set up by the Government of Assam.
